A Question of Law and Order
As everyone in earshot of a TV or radio this week knows, Paris Hilton is in jail. As punishment for DUI and driving with a suspended license (both parole violations for her) she is in solitary confinement. For 23 hours of the day she is in her cell. Now I don't want to say that these are not serious matters, they certainly are, but solitary? Are you serious? Ask yourself is Paris Hilton really the dangerous heinous criminal we need to punish?

I think the issue might be that she is just not taking this seriously. If you have a kid who keeps running out into the street, the punishments are eventually going to get overly-severe just so you can get the point across that this is not okay. If Paris would show that it's sinking in that what she's doing is wrong and she would start taking some mature responsibility for her actions, I think things would go differently for her. Otherwise, I do agree with you.
