I would like to join in the chorus of mounting disapproval directed towards the new Gap commercial that features Audrey Hepburn dancing to AC/DC's"Back in Black". Though the ad is arresting and it's true there could be no better advertisment for skinny black pants than Ms. Hepburn, it's still disconcerting to see scenes from "Funny Face" co-oped for a commercial.
I don't like it.
Having dead celebs shill a product leaves a bad taste in my mouth. "Funny Face" is my favorite Audrey movie (yes, I go againest the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" grain) one that deserves rediscovery. Hopefully, that will be the silver lining in this dark commercial cloud.
